Dunnock View

Dunnock View provides an acute inpatient service for men and women, specialising in the assessment and treatment of individuals in crisis or suffering from a significant mental health problems.

The aim of the service is to work with individuals in periods of crisis and acute phases of their mental illness in the least restrictive way. The service is supported by a full Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) consisting of Consultant Psychiatrist, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist and Occupational Therapy team offering a recovery focused approach. The team works in collaboration with patients to develop person-centred care plans to help with stabilisation and provide a pathway of care back to the community.

 

Approaches 

The team at Dunnock View offer a broad spectrum of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, involving patients at every stage. The hospital’s consultant-led MDT has a wealth of clinical and research experience, and programmes are designed to maximise the potential and enhance the quality of life of each patient.

 

Patient Profile

  • Men & women aged 18+ 
  • Informal or detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) 
  • Experiencing difficulties that present a risk to the wellbeing of themselves or others that cannot be treated in an open environment  

Diagnoses may include:

  • Acute mental illness 
  • Acute depressive illness 
  • Psychosis 
  • Schizophrenia 
  • Bipolar disorder 
  • Dual diagnosis 
  • Personality Disorder 
  • Patients may also present with substance misuse and self-harm issues 

 

Referrals and enquiries

We accept referrals and admit from all areas, including A&E, section 136 suites, and other acute services. Referrals are accepted 24hrs a day, 365 days a year, with a turnaround time of 1 hour subject to suitable clinical information being provided.
