Pinhoe View

Pinhoe View provides 36 acute beds across two wards for men and women who have enduring mental health problems. We accept referrals and admit people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provide full medical, clinical and therapeutic packages including pharmacological interventions when required.

Pinhoe View is a purpose built acute inpatient service with two 18 bed wards. It provides a safe and stabilising environment for men and women in crisis or who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.  

 

The aim of the service is to provide person-centred care and treatment, focused on recovery, to allow people to return home as quickly as possible.  

 

The service is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and is supported by a full Multidisciplinary  Team (MDT) consisting of Consultant Psychiatrist, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Workers, Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Psychologist and Occupational Therapy (OT) team offering a recovery focused approach.

 

Patient profile: 

  • Men and women aged 18 years and over
  • Informal or detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amend 2007)
  • Experiencing difficulties that present a risk to the wellbeing of themselves or others that cannot be treated in an open environment  

 

Diagnoses may include: 

  • Acute mental illness 
  • Acute depressive illness 
  • Psychosis
  • Schizophrenia
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Dual diagnosis
  • Personality Disorder
  • Substance misuse and self-harm issues
