The transition from student nurse to qualified practitioner, with integration into a new practice setting, can be a challenging time.

 

To support this transition the Elysium Preceptorship Academy develops newly qualified nurses into confident, competent practitioners, supporting you to ensure your first year as a qualified nurse is as positive as possible.

 

Every newly qualified nurse who chooses Elysium as their employer has access to benefit from and be part of the Preceptorship Academy. Throughout the Preceptorship, support will be provided to develop confidence as an autonomous professional with refined skills, values and behaviours.

 

The Elysium Preceptorship Academy is accredited by the RCN, and will give you:

 

  • 11 days of protected training
  • Progression through competency levels (Novice to level 2)
  • Expert support to help you apply your academic knowledge and practice placement experiences in real life situations within the wards
  • Supervision from a dedicated senior nurse who is on-hand to answer questions and provide support and advice, plus support from a ward-based mentor and your ward manager

 

A comprehensive schedule of key topics are covered throughout the Academy, including courageous conversations, physical healthcare, care planning, leading a shift and much more; equipping you with practical advice and guidance to embed the skills and knowledge gained as a student nurse.
