Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU)
Our Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) offer 24-hour service which provides assessment, stabilisation, care and support within the least restrictive environment. All our PICU services have high staffing ratios and a secure physical environment to ensure patients are fully supported in their recovery safely in a therapeutic environment. Our aims are to reduce risk as quickly as possible and support individuals to be discharged into an open setting in a safe and timely manner.
Acute
Our acute mental health units offer a 24-hour service to provide assessment, stabilisation, care and support within the least restricbve environment.
Patients are often referred whilst in crisis, where behaviour and actions indicate being at risk to themselves and others. We develop person-centred care plans on admission in collaboration with the patient. We aim to discharge people promptly to a suitable service as soon as appropriate.
