More information about The Cottage
The Cottage provides a high level of support for individuals needing supervision within a community based setting as part of their pathway towards more independent living. This can either be stepping down from hospital care or a period of support where a community placement has broken down.
The environment is homely and spacious, replicating an ordinary living setting where individuals and encouraged to maintain their own living space and develop daily living skills. There is a balanced combination of both shared and private living spaces to help give a structured and safe environment.
We provide person centred and care planned outcome focused interventions to support recovery to better health and greater independence. We facilitate engagement in the community and the opportunity to develop new lifestyle choices to improve self-esteem and confidence.
Our ethos is built upon a shared belief that the person is central to everything we do, and we ensure we are responsive to service users changing needs, reviewing and revising plans to meet those needs. We value positive risk-taking opportunities within a context of robust risk assessment and management, to ensure those we support are kept safe.
The team at The Cottage is made up of the Registered Manager, Senior Support Workers and Support Workers with further support if required, from the local Learning Disability Community Mental Health Team via GP referral.
